FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Will I be completely asleep?
Not necessarily. With nitrous oxide or oral sedation, you'll feel deeply relaxed, but still awake and responsive. These options are designed to ease anxiety, not put you to sleep. If you need deeper sedation, we’re happy to discuss your options and refer you to a trusted specialist.

Is sedation safe?
Yes. Both nitrous oxide and oral sedatives have been safely used in dentistry for decades. We’ll review your medical history and current medications to ensure the sedation method is appropriate and safe for you.

Can children receive nitrous oxide?
Yes—nitrous is gentle, fast‑acting, and easily adjusted, making it an excellent choice for kids.

Can I drive myself home afterward?
If you receive nitrous oxide only, you’ll be able to drive yourself home after a short recovery period. However, if you take an oral sedative, you’ll need someone to drive you to and from your appointment.
