DENTAL CLEANINGS & ORAL EXAMS
The Foundation of a Healthy Smile
One of the most important ways to protect your smile is through routine dental cleanings and exams. At Lewright Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we recommend visiting us every six months for a professional cleaning and a thorough evaluation of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health.

Our friendly, experienced hygienists are the best around and together with our dental team, they'll take time to identify problem areas early and provide personalized care — so you can keep your smile healthy and confident for life.

WHY REGULAR CLEANINGS
& EXAMS MATTER
Even with great brushing and flossing habits, plaque and tartar can build up in hard-to-reach areas. That’s where professional cleanings make all the difference.

Benefits of regular cleanings and checkups:
-
Healthier gums and bone support
-
Longer-lasting natural teeth
-
Early detection of cavities, gum disease, or oral cancer
-
Fresher breath and a brighter smile
-
Better overall health - including reduced risk for heart disease and diabetes

-
Dental cleanings aren’t just about polished teeth; they help prevent gum disease, which is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults.
-
Skipping cleanings can impact your heart. Studies show a link between gum disease and heart disease, stroke, and other inflammatory conditions.

-
Cavities don’t always hurt. Many start small and painless. That’s why regular checkups are key for early detection.

-
Over 90% of systemic diseases (like diabetes and cancer) can show early warning signs in your mouth.

-
Even the best brushers miss spots. Professional cleanings remove tartar and plaque that toothbrushes just can’t reach.

-
Oral cancer is on the rise — and regular exams help catch it early, when it's most treatable.
